2 Decades of WebBee Global Know the Journey from the Directors Themselves

Once started as a humble organisation that provided IT solutions to eCommerce retailers, WebBee Global is today celebrating 20 Years of its journey. From a service-based organisation to a pioneering product-based company, we have achieved a multitude of milestones, while several others are on their way. This time span of two decades has been a complete roller coaster ride. Let’s know about this journey from the eyes of visionaries themselves, as Mr. Abhishek Jain and Ms. Himani Jain, Co-Founders and Directors of WebBee Global, describe this ride in an unfiltered interview. 

1. How would you describe your journey as the Founders of WebBee Global as a whole?

Since the foundation of WebBee Global in 2005 to date, the journey has been quite rewarding. We got the opportunity to work with an incredible set of people who contributed to the growth of the company while experiencing growth on a personal level. We are glad that WebBee was able to provide a healthy working environment to people, and we can proudly claim that people who once left the company also came around with a wish to join and work with us again. 

Apart from this, we also had the privilege to serve amazing customers who allowed us to lead in a direction. It is because of all this that we could produce one-of-a-kind products like Amazon MCF by WebBee, Robust NetSuite Integrator, and MapMyChannel. Also, not to forget, we are able to uplift our lifestyle because of this venture. 

2. There would have been numerous roadblocks in this time span of 20 years. What was your approach towards them? How did you tackle the challenges from customers?

First of all, we would definitely like to mention that we were lucky to have targeted a niche market where customers were adaptive. When it comes to the approach towards challenges on the way, we both look at them together and bring out the solutions through upskilling and working as a team. Because that is the only way to bring the best out of business in the long run. 

To add further reference to this question, we were always clear about our target market. As we started in the initial phase of e-commerce when people hardly knew anything about it in India, we got an early beginner advantage. Hence, we started working with the US and the UK sellers, allowing us to build a company for the future.

3. What would be the top 3 highlight moments of your journey with WebBee Global?

To this, we would say that every roadblock comes with an opportunity. Hence, it was different challenges that brought those achievements for us. The first moment of achievement would be our marriage, which happened in 2008, within 3 years of WebBee Global’s foundation.

Second in this list would be around 2017, when we finally launched our products across different platforms. This is when the actual takeoff happened. When WebBee was founded, the intention was to produce a product, but to get things going, we started providing integration services while working on the product. By 2014, we were able to simplify the integrations, after which we designed the products. Also, there was a patch during the COVID-19 pandemic when I (Abhishek Jain)  was in the ICU for 5 months straight and then completely out of the office for another 6 months. Himani took charge and handled the company's conditions where people were quitting. But the post-lockdown period brought opportunities for us, and we worked on all those areas to grab as much business as possible. 

Finally, in 2023, we completely stopped the services arm and laid complete focus on our products. Today, WebBee Global has partnered with all the major eCommerce players like Amazon, Temu, Shopify, WooCommerce, eBay, etc. All this, because we had the courage to surpass all the problems and turn them into opportunities. 

4. Since you two are partners outside of business as well, what impact does this have on your lives?

Since the day of marriage, we have been working together, and the two business and personal life are going hand in hand. The two have become identical to us, and we can’t really differentiate between them. It helps us to have a common approach in life as well as business. We are able to reflect on the problems, solutions, and ideas as an unbreakable team. 

Speaking of personal life, it has strengthened our bond as we understand each other better while being each other’s constant support system. One really considerable impact is that we do not have anyone to blame. We are both responsible for the two different sections of our lives. 

5. What is your Vision 2030 for WebBee Global as a business?

Not looking at 2030, but we have our vision for 2032, which is in another seven years. So WebBee Global is aiming to be the top player in this segment of the eCommerce Industry. By that time, we envision empowering 10 percent of eCommerce orders across the world. For that, the focus is on building a community around WebBee with global partnerships and expansion. As directors, we are preparing ourselves to accelerate the company's growth while maintaining a healthy work environment for WebBee’s team.
